The CCAF is Greener than ever!

Go Green and Healthy

July 3, 4, 5, 2009

The Cherry Creek Arts Festival (CCAF) takes place every 4th of July weekend, and the 19th Annual CCAF was July 3, 4, 5, 2009. This annual community event is a world-class and award-winning celebration of the visual, culinary and performing arts, and enjoys an attendance of 350,000 visitors over the 3-day event. CCAF gives patrons the FREE, rare and special opportunity to meet and talk with international visual artists, sample fine cuisine, visit special exhibits and artist demonstrations, and entertain their families with interactive 'Artivities' and exciting performing arts. CCAF is proud to be considered Colorado's signature cultural event and to be a nationally top-ranked and award-winning art show annually – both in the visual artist and special event/festival industries.

CCAF is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation whose mission is to provide access to a broad array of arts experiences and support arts education in Colorado. Along with the arts festival itself, CCAF fulfills its year-round art education and outreach mission through programs including the Mobile Art Gallery, Artist in Residence programs and the Student Art Buying Program.

In the true spirit of the 2009 Festival theme "Together through Art," the Cherry Creek Arts Festival, in partnership with Azteca America Colorado, has begun a new Latino outreach initiative. "Unidos a través del Arte" includes Spanish translations of the Cherry Creek Arts Festival event information, a youth art contest, and bi-lingual Festival Ambassadors at the event.

In addition, Azteca America Colorado will provide Cherry Creek Arts Festival information in Spanish on www.AztecaColorado.com. The content includes an event map, entertainment schedule, parking and general information.

Recognizing the deep cultural ties of art and religion in the Latino community and in support of the Latino outreach initiative, Azteca America Colorado will sponsor an art contest Nuestro Arte – La Reina Guadalupana. Children and young adults (ages 6-16) are invited to submit their artistic interpretations of the Our Lady of Guadalupe image. Project materials and display of the artwork will be available at the Azteca America Colorado booth at the Cherry Creek Arts Festival.

The CCAF is Greener than ever! -- As part of the CCAF's continued commitment to the environment, CCAF has partnered up with Aquafina to enhance their recycling program by offering increased number of recycling stations conveniently placed throughout the festival grounds.

Go Green and Healthy - ride your bike to the Cherry Creek Arts Festival! Valet parking for bikes is available at two "corrals": 3rd Ave & Steele St, and 2nd Ave and Detroit St. A suggested $1 donation for bicycle valet parking contributes to the Bike Denver's 501 (c)(3) non-profit mission.

Also, don't forget – CCAF is in constant need of volunteers and are the backbone of the Cherry Creek Arts Festival. The difference between a good volunteer program and a great one is that the volunteers have a wonderful time while they are working for the event.

A team of almost 1,000 volunteers are needed to produce the Cherry Creek Arts Festival each year. Please consider volunteering by visiting http://www.cherryarts.org/volunteer
