Created in 1993 through the committed and collective efforts of the Entertainment Industry Foundation, Lilly Tartikoff, Ronald O. Perelman, and The Davis Group, the EIF REVLON Run/Walk For Women has grown to become one of the nation’s largest 5K fundraising events. To date, the Run/Walks (LA/NY) have distributed nearly $55 million dollars for cancer research, counseling, and outreach programs. Thanks in part to these funds, new treatments are being developed and lives are being saved.
On Saturday, May 9, 2009, the 16th annual EIF Revlon Run/Walk For Women took place in Los Angeles. Presented by the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) and Revlon, the Run/Walk is co-chaired by Lilly Tartikoff and Ronald O. Perelman. More than 50,000 men, women and children participated and helped in raising critical funds to support breast and ovarian cancer research, counseling and outreach programs in the Los Angeles area and beyond.
To date, EIF's Revlon Run/Walk events in New York and Los Angeles combined have distributed nearly $55 million to breast and ovarian cancer research, education and awareness programs. The Run/Walk, which began in 1993 when co-founders Lilly Tartikoff and Ronald O. Pearlman teamed up with the Entertainment Industry Foundation, grants millions each year to women's cancer research organizations, counseling and outreach programs nationwide.
Along with their continuing support of the Revlon Run/Walk, the Entertainment Industry Foundation has helped to raise hundreds of millions of dollars to support charitable initiatives that address critical health, education and social issues afflicting our nation.
Aquafina is very proud to have supported both the New York and Los Angeles events in 2009, and as a part of or support, we provided over 120,000 individual bottles of water to rehydrate all participants and volunteers. In addition, as a part of our commitment to help reduce both events’ impact upon the environment, we deployed a sizeable and far-reaching recycling collection program at each event’s finish line area.
